From 8.00 – 9.00pm the main debate will commence on the future of the town. The Chair will introduce our two speakers:

  • Cllr Tom Jones will explain the role of the South Downs National Park Authority in planning matters that affect the town. Tom chairs the District Council Planning Committee and is also on South Downs National Park Authority as representative for Lewes District
  •  Cllr Susan Murray, chair of the Lewes Town Council Planning Committee, will speak on the potential for a Local Neighbourhood Plan for Lewes; what this might mean and what it could cover.

There will be a chance to discuss and share your ideas about how the best can be made of any developments in Lewes; such as the proposals to develop what is being called the North Street Quarter (formerly Phoenix).
